Job Description
A Welder is responsible for joining, repairing, and fabricating metal components using various welding techniques and equipment. The role is essential in construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, shipbuilding, infrastructure, and industrial maintenance.
Responsibilities
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, cutting, grinding, and fitting materials before welding.
• Perform welding using processes such as SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW, as required.
• Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures, pipes, and equipment.
• Inspect welds for quality, strength, and compliance with project specifications.
• Operate welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools safely.
• Repair defective welds and perform rework when necessary.
