Job Description
A Fire Sealant Technician works on commercial, residential, industrial, and healthcare projects to ensure that fire-rated barriers remain intact and comply with building codes and fire safety standards. The role requires knowledge of fire protection systems, construction methods, and proper application of firestop materials.
Responsibilities
• Apply fire-resistant sealants, coatings, and firestop materials around pipes, cables, ducts, and wall penetrations
• Inspect work areas and identify openings that require fire protection.
• Read drawings, safety procedures, and technical specifications.
• Prepare surfaces before applying fire sealant materials.
• Use hand tools and safety equipment properly.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety at the worksite
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other construction workers.
