Job Description
The Blasting Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and managing abrasive blasting and surface preparation activities for firefighting system components, pipelines, pump skids, and other fabricated equipment. The role ensures that all blasting work is completed in accordance with project specifications, international standards, quality requirements, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) regulations.
Responsibilities
• Plan and supervise abrasive blasting activities for fabrication and fire protection projects.
• Develop blasting procedures, method statements, and inspection plans.
• Select suitable blasting materials, abrasives, and equipment based on project requirements.
• Ensure surface preparation complies with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with fabrication, painting, QA/QC, and project teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
• Monitor blasting equipment performance and ensure timely maintenance.
• Prepare daily progress reports, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
• Monitor productivity, material consumption, and project schedules.
