Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Steel Fixer Chargehand to join a leading construction company . The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising steel fixing teams and ensuring reinforcement work is completed according to approved structural drawings, bar bending schedules, project specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of reinforcement detailing, steel cutting, bending, placing, tying, and inspection procedures. This role requires effective team leadership, site coordination, attention to detail, and strict compliance with construction safety requirements
Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate steel fixers and helpers to ensure daily reinforcement activities are completed safely and on schedule.
• Read and interpret structural drawings, reinforcement details, and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) before assigning work.
• Monitor the cutting, bending, placing, spacing, lapping, tying, and fixing of reinforcement steel.
• Inspect completed reinforcement work to ensure correct alignment, concrete cover, spacing, anchorage, and compliance with approved specifications.
• Coordinate with civil engineers, foremen, formwork teams, and site supervisors before concrete pouring and resolve reinforcement-related issues.
