Job Description
A Steel Fixer is responsible for cutting, bending, assembling, and installing reinforcement steel (rebar) for civil, maintenance, renovation, and construction projects. The role includes interpreting structural drawings, preparing and fixing reinforcement according to approved specifications, ensuring accuracy, quality workmanship, and timely completion of assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
• Cut, bend, and fix reinforcement steel bars (rebar) according to approved structural drawings and specifications.
• Install reinforcement for foundations, columns, beams, slabs, walls, staircases, and other reinforced concrete structures.
• Read and interpret structural drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and work instructions.
• Measure, mark, and prepare reinforcement materials before installation.
• Inspect reinforcement work to ensure correct spacing, alignment, lap lengths, and concrete cover
• Assist in civil repair and strengthening works involving reinforced concrete elements
• Coordinate with carpenters, masons, concrete workers, and site supervisors during reinforcement activities.
• Respond to emergency repair and maintenance works as assigned.
