Job Description
A Gypsum Carpenter is responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing gypsum board (drywall) systems for walls, ceilings, partitions, and decorative features in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role requires accuracy, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
Responsibilities
• Install gypsum board, drywall, and ceiling systems according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Construct metal stud partitions, false ceilings, bulkheads, and decorative gypsum features
• Measure, cut, shape, and fit gypsum boards using appropriate tools.
• Install metal framing, channels, and suspension systems.
• Tape, joint, and finish gypsum board surfaces to prepare them for painting or decoration
• Repair damaged gypsum walls and ceilings
• Ensure all installations meet quality and safety standards
• Read and interpret construction drawings, layouts, and work instructions
• Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to complete work on schedule.
